Nigerian international, Taiwo Awoniyi has been nominated as one of the best players for the month of August in the Premier League.
Awoniyi, who scored 3 goals in 3 matches for Nottingham Forest in the month of August was nominated alongside Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, James Maddison – who scored a goal and provided two assists.
Others nominees are Jarrod Bowen of West Ham United , Bryan Mbeumo of Brentford, Kaoru Mitoma of Brighton & Hove Albion and Rodri of Manchester City.
Bowen registered two goals and provided an assist in three matches in the month of August, while Mbeumo fired in three goal in three appearances.
Similarly, Mitoma had three goals contribution – scoring a goal and amassing two assists and Rodri scored twice in three matches – providing an assist.
Meanwhile, the managers are not left out as Arsenal’s gaffer, Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool made the nominees list.
Other managers are; David Moyes of West Ham United and Ange Postecoglou of Tottenham Hotspur.
The August 2023 nominees also featured the goal of the month; with the likes of Bukayo Saka making the list for the goal scored against Nottingham Forest, while Bowen’s finish against Bournemouth also made the list.
Alexander Isak’s goal in the face-off with Aston Villa; and Gustavo Hamer goal versus Nottingham Forest were also nominated.
Other nominees are; Kaoru Mitoma’s goal against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Luis Diaz versus Bournemouth, Raheem Sterling against Luton Town, not forgetting Kevin Schade’s goal for Brentford against Crystal Palace.
